Binary ReleasesPre-compiled releases are available for the following Windows and Macintosh platforms.
Source ReleasesIf you're running on a platform other than the ones listed above, or if you want to make modifications to Tcl and Tk, you'll need to retrieve the source releases. Once you've retrieved the sources, click below for instructions on how to configure, compile, and install Tcl/Tk. How to Compile Tcl Source Releases UNIXYou'll want both Tcl and Tk sources. Choose between compressed tar and gzipped tar format. The files listed under the Windows sources contain the same information but are in ZIP format. Compressed Tar FilesExtract these with this UNIX command line:uncompress <

Gzip'ed Tar FilesExtract these with this UNIX command line:gunzip <

WindowsIf you have downloaded the Unix version of these files, there is no need to also download these versions since these files are identical but in ZIP format instead of compressed tar. MacintoshThe Macintosh files listed below are in binhex format, which is understood by Fetch, StuffIt, and many other Mac utilities. The unpacked file is a self-installing executable: double-click on it and it will create a folder containing source files used to build Tcl and Tk for 8.2.1.
